St Mary the Virgin, Aythorpe Roding Church in Essex

May 23, 2010 on 12:31 pm | In General Information | No Comments

In the coming months I am photographing a couple of wedding ceremonies at St. Mary the Virgin, Aythorpe Roding Church which has come as a surprise because it’s been five years since the last wedding took place there and then two come within a few weeks.

Aythorpe Roding is near Great Dunmow in the Essex countryside and is lovely setting for a wedding.

The area just outside the church isn’t very big but is very picturesque.

But around the back of the church I found a great backdrop for some romantic shots.

As travelled down the little path I found an open area which would be perfect for group shots and still have the church in the background.

Wedding Photography at The Grange in Northwood near Watford

May 11, 2010 on 1:57 pm | In Customer Weddings Revealed | No Comments

On Saturday I photographed a wedding for Sarah and Martin in Watford.

The weather was a little bit mixed and rain was a definite possibility. I arrived at the brides home nice and early to capture the pre-wedding moments. We did manage to get outside for a few too, so I was pleased.

I then took the five minute journey to the All Saints Church (http://www.allsaintschurchleavesden.com/) where I caught up with the groom.

After catching the brides arrival outside, it was time for the wedding ceremony.

After a few select group shots we then took the 20 minute journey to the Grange in Northwood (http://www.lido.co.uk/thegrange.html).

It had started to rain when we got to the venue so I got out my trustee white umbrella!

We did manage to get outside in between showers for the rest of the group shots and I also took some more with the boys as time had been short before the ceremony.

It was then time for the meal and the speeches.

I was lucky to work alongside Chris Kennedy from C&H Video (http://www.chvideo.co.uk) who I have worked with many times and it is always a pleasure.

The couple had an amazing looking cake!

As the rain had cleared up we went back outside for some more photographs.

The evening party started and it was time for the first dance.

I had a really fun day photographing Sarah and Martin’s wedding and wish them every success in the future even though Martin’s a Spurs fan :)… After the full day of capturing, there was just time for a couple more shots.

Wedding Photography at Ponsbourne Park Hotel near Cheshunt in Hertfordshire

Yesterday I photographed a wedding for Laura and Del at the Ponsbourne Park Hotel near Cheshunt in Hertfordshire.

Being a bank holiday weekend the weather had gone from being really warm and sunny to quite cold, windy and very wet. Unfortunately the weather is the one thing that you cannot guarantee so you always need a contingency plan for these conditions. I met up with the bride and took some getting ready shots.

I then caught up with the guys who were also getting ready in the hotel.

It was then time for the ceremony and I took my position up front to capture the expression throughout.

There was a very brief break in the rain so I convinced the guests to pop outside for one big group shot before the rain continued.

The Ponsbourne Park Hotel has a stone gazebo which makes the perfect location for group shots in wet weather conditions providing the natural backdrop without getting wet.

Des the Toastmaster was a great help during the group shots with regards to people organisation which is always made a little more difficult on wet weddings. It was then time for the wedding breakfast and then the speeches.

After the speeches had finished I noticed that the rain had finally stopped and asked the bride and groom if they would like to venture out and take some of the shots we had discussed before the wedding utilising the grounds.

I took a few more special shots before my day was complete.

As I was driving away from the venue I had to stop the car and take this last photo. I had great fun at Laura and Del’s wedding and wish them every success in their new life together.
