Wedding Photography at The Manor of Groves near Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire
June 24, 2009 on 12:08 am | In Customer Weddings Revealed | No CommentsOn Saturday Steve photographed Caroline and Rob’s wedding at the Manor of Groves in High Wych near Sawbridgeworth in Hertfordshire for RT Weddings. The weather forecast had been for light rain but the sky was showing a different story as it was dry and overcast.
After meeting the groom, groom’s men and parents at St. Michael’s Church in Bishop’s Stortford for a few pre-wedding photographs it was time to go to the bride’s home which was just minutes away.
The bride arrived with her brother in a lovely convertable vintage sports car.
After the ceremony there was time for some group shots at the front of the church before moving on to the Manor of Groves for the wedding reception.
The Manor of Groves is a great location for a wedding as it has some lovely gardens and a beautiful outdoor staircase perfect for some stylish photographs.
As well as taking the formal group shots, Steve took some lovely romantic shots of the couple.
I was asked if I could put an effect on the garter shot and make it sepia to give it a stylish look.
There was also time to capture some casual shots before the wedding breakfast, the speeches and the cutting of the cake.
As with all RT Wedding’s it was an all day service right through to the first dance. If you would like us to photograph your wedding then please do get in touch.

Wedding Photography at Mulberry House, High Ongar, Essex
June 22, 2009 on 2:19 am | In Customer Weddings Revealed | No CommentsOn Saturday I photographed a wedding at Mulberry House in High Ongar, Essex for Vivien and Mark. Light showers had been forecast for the day although I was still optimistic we would get some shots outdoors. In the shot below I managed to organise some swans to pose for the perfect bridge shot.
I arrived at the bride’s home and captured the accessories and some candid opportunities as well as some formal photographs of the bridal party.
I then moved on to the wedding venue, Mulberry House where I met up with the groom and the boys. Mulberry House is a fantistic wedding venue with beautiful grounds, a lovely house and also an excellent reception room.
I was able to photograph the wedding ceremony from the front and capture the expression through-out. After the ceremony the bride and groom went for a short drive in the Rolls Royce and I captured some casual shots whilst they were gone.
On their return they were greeted with some drinks and I let them have a few minutes with their guests which gave me an opportunity to capture more casual shots.
I then started the formal group shots which I managed to do very quickly thus not intruding on the guests for too long. During the group shots two little ducklings strolled by and I couldn’t resist, maybe they will book me for their wedding…
I also took an aerial group shot from an upstairs window and it gives you a better idea of the grounds surrounding Mulberry House which is stunning.
I then did the confetti shots and after giving the couple a bit more time with their guests, took them around for a romantic shoot utilising all the lovely areas around the grounds.
There are so many wonderful locations at Mulberry House.
It was then time for the receiving line, the meal and speeches, not forgetting the cutting of the cake.
The couple had a bit of time after their meal to relax before the evening party started.
I had an extremely enjoyable day photographing Vivien and Mark’s wedding. I finished off by capturing the first dance and also a couple of night shots. If you are getting married and you like my style of wedding photography then please get in touch as I would be delighted to assist.

Wedding Photography at Gaynes Park, Epping, Essex
June 16, 2009 on 12:35 am | In Customer Weddings Revealed | No CommentsAs a wedding photographer for Essex, on Sunday I was asked to photograph a wedding at Gaynes Park near Epping in Essex, for my good friend and fellow photographer Steve. My role was to be second photographer concentrating on capture natural and casual looking photographs depicting the fun and expression from the wedding day. Gaynes Park is an exciting barn wedding venue as you will see from this article.
You may recall I photographed a wedding at Gaynes Park back in the November on a very wet weekend. This time the weather was perfect! We got there nice and early which allowed us time to look around the venue and also capture the guests arriving.
Whilst Steve went to the cottage to capture some shots with the bride getting ready, I met up with the groom and the best man for a couple of shots.
The couple were getting married in the orangery which is a great location surrounded by the gardens and some trees. The orangery itself is mainly glass and on a day like this we were thankful for the air conditioning during the ceremony!
I also captured some informal shots with the bride and her daughter (the bridesmaid) just before they walked over for the ceremony.
I do enjoy photographing the casual moments using a journalistic style and also do this along with the formal shots when photographing weddings alone.
There is lovely long pathway entering the orangery which really does make for amazing entrance!
The registrars were very accomodating and allowed photography throughout the ceremony. I managed to find a good location up front to capture this.
After the ceremony it was time for the confetti shot, so we used the new pavillion for this and it worked a treat.
Whilst Steve concentrated on the formal group shots, I wandered around taking casual photos. As there were lots of children at the wedding I made sure I didn’t miss out on their moments of enjoyment too.
It was then time for the couple to “mock up” cutting of the cake before they all sat down for the wedding meal. This took place in the barn at Gaynes Park and is a lovely location with a balcony area surrounding the main hall.
The couple had only booked for photography up until the meal so our time was over. I really had fun working with Steve again and hope I managed to capture a less formal view of the wedding. I can offer a two photographer service for your wedding, please take a look at my wedding package options.
