Wedding Photography at Combe Bank School
November 16, 2008 on 2:27 am | In Customer Weddings Revealed | Comments OffYesterday I was lucky enough to photograph another wedding with Steve, an associate photographer at a venue I hadn’t been to before. Cheryl and Luke’s wedding took place at Combe Bank School near Sevenoaks in Kent. As a wedding photographer for Herts and Essex I was keen to venture a bit further and photograph this wedding in Kent.
While Steve spent time photographing the Bride and Bridesmaid’s before the ceremony, I took time to capture some shots with the boys.
Combe Bank School is a great venue for weddings and has some wonderful grounds and also great architecture.
The ceremony took place in the chapel and there were some great expressions and emotions through-out. There was also a fantastic gospel choir which really added to the proceedings.
The bride arrived in a beautiful Rolls Royce and with some clever angles I managed to hide the not so pretty, main school building as she entered the drive.
Lucky for us the weather stayed dry and we were able to make use of the grounds for some outdoor shots before returning to the warmth of the venue.
After a great meal, we captured the speeches and of course the cutting of the cake before taking the couple around for some romantic shots.
There were a few more group shots which the couple asked us to take and we also found a unique location for a cheeky shot of the bride before finishing off with the first dance.
If you would like me to photograph your wedding then please get in touch. I can offer a dual photographer service at very reasonable upgrade rates. Just one more shot before we finished…I really enjoyed photographing Cheryl and Luke’s wedding and also working with Steve again. I finish with one of my favourite shots from the day of the bride spinning.

PR Photography for Focus New Media
November 7, 2008 on 8:02 pm | In General Information | Comments OffAs a wedding photographer in Essex and Hertfordshire my core business revolves around the wedding season, but as the season quietens down I am often asked to take on other photographic assignments. I was contacted by the Bristol based web development company Focus New Media asking if I could take some PR shots as they have just opened a East of England branch in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire.

Focus New Media have been providing websites and web based software since 1996 and are a well established web development company in the South West of England. By launching an office in Hertfordshire they are able to provide their services to London and the Home Counties and expand their business.
I was asked to photograph the South East team which included (from left to right) Lisa Lee – New Business Director, Simon Newing – Managing Director and Neil Smith – Technical Director. The new office is based in the Maltings Business Park in Sawbridgeworth which is built alongside the Stort Canal and is a pleasant location boasting some great surroundings.
I really enjoyed the shoot and captured the photographs based on my initial brief. Running a business in Sawbridgeworth myself, it is always great to see new businesses come to the area and utilising local services and I hope to work with Focus New Media on future assignments should they require photographic services.
Simon also asked if I could take some additional shots for the Focus New Media blog to announce the opening of the new offices and a glass of bubbly and cake went down very well!
If you are a local business and you require a photographer for any reason then please get in touch as I am sure I can provide my services and meet your needs.
I took a mix of natural lit, flash lit and studio lamp shots and my particular favourite from the shoot is this one taken on a 200mm F4 IS lens.

A Gaynes Park Wedding in November
November 5, 2008 on 1:41 am | In Customer Weddings Revealed | Comments OffAs my wedding season is now almost over I took the opportunity to work alongside my friend Steve, on one of his wedding bookings at Gaynes Park, Coopersale, in Essex. As a wedding photographer in Essex and Hertfordshire, and not having photographed there before, I was very keen to take on the challenge. The wedding was for Elizabeth and Franco and my brief was to capture a more casual side to their wedding.
Gaynes Park is an exciting barn wedding venue and does boast some lovely gardens and grounds. Unfortunately it was a very wet and wintery day and the majority of photographs took place indoors, but this wasn’t too much of a problem as the venue also has some well lit and rustic indoor locations.
The bride was a little bit late arriving to the ceremony and the groom made light of this and it made for a photo opportunity as he sat in the registrars seat.
The groom looked very relieved to see the bride walking down the aisle and everything went to plan.
The children at the wedding were very photogenic and without any prompting they posed for the camera.
There was a very short break in the rain showers so we all rushed outside for one quick group photograph before the heavens opened again and we had to return to take smaller groups inside.
Champagne was served in the Orangery and it certainly was a great location for a social atmosphere.
It was then time for us to make our way to the Gaynes Park Barns (the main banquet hall) where the wedding breakfast was about to be served. The food at Gaynes Park is fantastic and I would definitely recommend it as a good venue. After the meal it was time for some romantic shots and some candid ones too.
Not forgetting the cutting of the cake!
We stayed right through to the first dance. I really enjoyed working alongside Steve and the couple were great fun to photograph.
If you would like me to photograph your wedding then please get in touch. I can offer a dual photographer service at very reasonable upgrade rates. Just one more shot before we finished…
