Wedding Photography at Greenwoods in Stock, Essex
August 10, 2008 on 9:24 pm | In Customer Weddings Revealed | No CommentsI photographed this wedding on Friday at Greenwoods in Stock, Essex. Greenwoods is a fabulous venue and both Kelly and David were a great couple to work with. The weather on the day was extremely overcast and heavy showers had been forecast. The one thing that can’t be guaranteed is the weather unfortunately…
The decision was made quite late by the registrar that we could continue to have the ceremony outside in the gazebo as originally planned and this did make a great setting.
I enjoy shooting outdoor wedding ceremonies, especially when set in gazebo’s as I am able to get a few different angles through out the proceedings and get quite close to capture some great expressions.
After the ceremony I made a concious effort to organise the formal group shots in record time as the rain seemed iminent. Everyone involved understood the potential weather problems facing us, drizzle was just in the air and they were all very accomodating to my requests.
No sooner had we finished the groups and the weather dryed up again. The bride and groom had some time with their guests while drinks were served which enabled me to capture some casual guest shots and expression photography. Once refreshed, I took the couple around the gardens and the house for some romantic shots.
Whenever possible I always like to grab the opportunity of taking an aerial group photograph of all the wedding guests, and with a little help from the venue allowing me to access one of the rooms I succeeded in my quest.
I really enjoyed my day with Kelly and David and I photographed right up to the first dance taking over 600 photographs for their wedding collection. I was pleased to get this movement shot of the flower girls making the most of the dance floor, and feel it really shows a moment of fun and excitement.

Wedding Photography at The Musket Club in Colchester, Essex
August 1, 2008 on 9:04 am | In Customer Weddings Revealed | No CommentsHaving already photographed a wedding on the Friday, I was still looking forward to this one on the Saturday for Beverly and Kai although the forecast was for heavy rain! Oh how wrong they were as yet again it was a beautiful, sunny day.
The wedding photography took place at the Bride’s parent’s home, at their local Evangelical Church and reception was at the Musket Club in Colchester. The Bride’s father obviously enjoyed gardening and this made a great setting for some of the pre-wedding photographs.
I really enjoyed the ceremony at the Lexden Evangelical church as it had some great music through-out and was very upbeat and fun! The church itself was very modern and I was a little worried before hand that it may not be that photogenic, but being able to stand on the stage to get some shots allowed me to use a mosaic of people which worked well.
The church itself didn’t have the grounds for doing the group shots, but luckily there is a public park within walking distance and it was well worth the additional effort.
We then moved on to the venue where I was able to capture all the table details and the speeches. We also found an area opposite the venue which made a perfect location for some more photographs in the trees.
After a great day there’s only one thing left and that’s the first dance!
After two consecutive weddings I needed a well deserved rest although still managed to have both weddings on-line by the Sunday evening.
