Wedding in Zante, Greece
July 15, 2008 on 5:37 pm | In General Information | Comments OffAnother of my weddings overseas was for Leanne and Neil’s wedding on the island of Zakynthos (Zante), Greece which took place in 2004. The Groom’s father lived on the island although the rest of the wedding party had travelled from the UK.
The wedding ceremony took place at a venue called “The Balcony” which was on a cliff side overlooking the sea on the East coast of the island.
This was a great setting for the outdoor ceremony and the weather was beautiful.
The wedding breakfast took place in a resort on the South coast at a traditional Greek restaurant… Yamas!
I do enjoy working on location abroad (who wouldn’t!) and it always provides a string of new challenges to overcome, but is definitely worth the effort. My next wedding overseas is in Sorrento, Italy in September so watch this space!

Wedding in St Lucia
July 15, 2008 on 11:23 am | In Customer Weddings Revealed | No CommentsHaving this recent blog facility has given me a new place to showcase some of my more exotic weddings from the archives. As you may have read, I was lucky enough to photograph a wedding in Zurich, Switzerland a couple of weeks ago. This however wasn’t my first taste of photographing abroad. A couple of seasons ago I was honoured to photograph a good friends’ wedding in the beautiful island of St. Lucia.
This made an absolutely fantastic setting for Becky and Neil’s wedding day which was set overlooking the bay.
The wedding day atmosphere was great, and after the ceremony a carribbean steel drum band played and the weather was perfect.
I felt very privileged to take their photographs and being their friend made it more special for all of us. The early evening sunset made for some extra special shots.

Wedding Photograpy at The Bedford Swan Hotel Bedfordshire
July 10, 2008 on 4:33 pm | In Customer Weddings Revealed | No CommentsThe day after photographing at Knebworth Barns, I had an equally exciting assignment at the Bedford Swan Hotel in the centre of Bedford overlooking the River Ouse. Emma and Neil were a great couple and having already done a pre-wedding recky with them I had an idea of exactly what they wanted for their photographs.
The Bride was very keen to have a “Reservoir Dogs” style photograph of the Groom, the Best Man and the Ushers. I did a little research before the wedding and took a look through my DVD’s and this is what I came up with, and also did a digital enhancement to get the authentic design.
While waiting for the Bride to get ready there are always things to keep me occupied and I was pleased with these cute photographs of the Bridesmaids.
As with all my weddings I ensure I capture as many details from the day as I can which symbolise this and make a great theme throughout the photograph selection.
The Bedford Swan Hotel is an excellent venue and has lots of indoor opportunities for the photographs. Here are a selection from around and during the wedding ceremony.
Just outside the Swan Hotel is a large lawn area and some small groups of trees, aswell as the River Ouse with runs along parallel. I found a great location to capture the entire wedding party as an aerial group shot.
We were really spoilt for views for the romantic selection of shots and we decided to utilise the suspension bridge and riverside path.
On the way back to the venue we noticed the riverside flower gardens and I couldn’t resist taking these few shots, so I apologise for ignoring the “keep of the grass” signs in advance.
I was with the couple all afternoon capturing casual expression and also through the speeches, finishing up with the cutting of the cake, the first dance, a casino and also my mobile studio reception portraiture.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Emma, Neil and all their family and friends.
