A Winter’s Wedding at the Fennes

December 14, 2008 on 6:39 pm | In Weddings Revealed | No Comments

Yesterday was my final wedding of the year and it took place at the Fennes, Bocking near Braintree in Essex. The wedding was for a lovely couple, Jo and Neale and I was working alongside Steve again capturing a less informal coverage and the expression of the day. Unfortunately you cannot guarantee the weather at any time of the year, less so in the Winter months, and it was an extremely wet, windy and wintery day, so we made the most of the interior at the Fennes.

The Fennes is a great wedding venue and I imagine on a dry summer’s day its full potential becomes very much apparent. We arrived nice and early so that we could have a good look around the venue and seek out suitable locations for photographs. The venue had a real Christmas atmosphere about it.

I took some shots of the Groom and the boys before the wedding using some of the great rooms at the venue, and the lighting gave a very warm atmosphere.

The ceremony took place in one of the two large marquee’s at the Fennes and really did make a nice setting.

After the ceremony we were able to capture a few shots around the venue.

We even managed to get outside for a couple of shots as there was a very short break in the weather. I was very pleased about this as it meant we could use the bridge and the pond, before returning back to the warmth for some wedding drinks.

It was then time for the formal group shots and I was concentrating on capturing the more informal moments, although for some it was definitely nap time.

It wouldn’t be a wedding without some confetti!

As with all our weddings we captured the speeches, also set up a small area for family portraits which all add to the bride and grooms collection, and then of course the traditional first dance.

I really had fun at Jo and Neale’s wedding and they seemed to enjoy our presence throughout their special day. If you would like me to photograph your wedding then please get in touch.

RT Weddings Website Evolution for 2009

December 9, 2008 on 4:44 pm | In RT Corporate | No Comments

Today I completed the next step in the development of the RT Weddings website which was to overhaul the home page adding the new logo and enlarging the images for the slideshow. I have added some new photos to the slideshow and structured it to tell the story of a wedding day in pictures.

November Wedding at Leez Priory

November 29, 2008 on 4:46 pm | In Weddings Revealed | No Comments

One of the last weddings of the 2008 season for me took place at Leez Priory near Chelmsford in Essex. I was asked to take the role of 2nd photographer for my good friend and associate Steve on this wedding for Emma and Elliot. It was a crisp wintery day but did stay bright, but with a chill in the air.

I took my usual position during the ceremony which was up the front to enable me to capture the emotions and expression throughout.

The ceremony room in Leez Priory is in the Tudor Great Tower adjacent to the main house.

Making the most of the dry weather we did manage to grab some shots outside although didn’t keep everyone stood around too long as it was quite chilly.

I particularly like using doorways and archways for some really arty looking shots.

It was then time for the wedding breakfast and I must say the food at Leez Priory is fantastic!

After the meal and speeches there was a firework display and then the first dance.

We took the opportunity of taking some night shots as the buildings at Leez Priory are flood lit.

I really enjoyed photographing Emma and Elliots wedding day and it was a pleasure working with Steve again. If you would like to know more about RT Weddings and interested in me photographing your wedding day then please get in touch.

The New RT Weddings Logo

November 19, 2008 on 6:35 pm | In RT Corporate | No Comments

After almost two years of trading as RT Weddings I have finally found the time to improve the logo. I wanted the new logo to reflect my values and make a statement which is modern, casual, friendly, professional and easily recogniseable. I felt the previous logo was too modern, corporate and techy looking and simply didn’t reflect those values. CLICK FOR FULL STORY OF "The New RT Weddings Logo…"

Wedding Photography at Stoke Place

November 18, 2008 on 8:15 pm | In Weddings Revealed | No Comments

I was very pleased to be invited back to Stoke Place in Stoke Poges near Slough for my second wedding there of the season. This wedding for Jenny and Darren took place quite late on a Sunday afternoon in November. You may recall my last wedding at Stoke Place in back in August and Jenny contacted me after reading my blog article. Although I did take some pre-wedding shots outside the majority of work was taken indoors as it was dark by 4.30pm. This time Steve came and assisted me as the 2nd photographer and we certainly made a great team on the day.

Wedding Photography at Combe Bank School

November 16, 2008 on 2:27 am | In Weddings Revealed | No Comments

Yesterday I was lucky enough to photograph another wedding with Steve, an associate photographer at a venue I hadn’t been to before. Cheryl and Luke’s wedding took place at Combe Bank School near Sevenoaks in Kent. As a wedding photographer for Herts and Essex I was keen to venture a bit further and photograph this wedding in Kent.
