Salomons in Tunbridge Wells
September 2, 2008 on 6:20 pm | In Weddings Revealed | No CommentsAs wedding photographer in Hertfordshire and Essex, I was quite excited to venture out of my usual area and photograph this wedding at Salomons in Tunbridge Wells, Kent for Gemma and Ian. It was a very clear day, blue skies and sunny, probably the warmest day so far this year!
The entire wedding took place at the venue and I took an assistant Martyn along with me to capture some casual shots whilst I was organising the posed photographs. I can offer a dual photographer service at a reasonable rate, please enquire when you book with me. There was also a professional videographer, ‘Leo’ from Perfect Day Studios who was very easy to work along side.
The ceremony took place outside which was a lovely setting overlooking the beautiful grounds at Salomons.
As it was a hot day, we decided to get the group shots done straight after the ceremony as efficiently as possible so that everyone could then relax with refreshments.
Salomons also has a beautiful staircase and I could resist taking this shot.
I then took the bride and groom around the grounds at the venue and we were able to capture some great photographs.
The videographer asked the bride to spin around for a segment of his recording and we were quick to capture some of this. I will definitely be asking future bride’s to have a go at this.
The table decorations looked fantastic and really added a great theme to the day.
As with all my weddings I offer an all day service and photograph right through to the first dance. It was a real pleasure to work with Gemma and Ian!
If you would like me to photograph your wedding then please get in touch as I am getting booked up for next season. I look forward to hearing from you.

Competition Winner!!
September 2, 2008 on 4:39 pm | In Weddings Revealed | No CommentsAs a wedding photographer in Hertfordshire and Essex, you may recall I ran a competition last summer in Your Herts & Beds Wedding magazine offering the prize of my Modern Package. On Friday I photographed the competition winner’s (Michelle and Glen) wedding at Leverstock Green Church and the Bobsleigh Hotel near Hemel Hempstead.
The weather on the day was perfect for a wedding, it was bright, slightly overcast and not too warm which I was pleased about. I took Martyn, an assistant along with me on the day and being a photographer as well, he was able to capture some great casual shots whilst I was posing the formal groups. I can offer a dual photographer service at quite reasonable rates so please enquire when making a booking with me.
Normally I like to photograph a wedding ceremony from the front of the church, that way I can capture the expression throughout the service. Unfortunately the decision of where photographs can be taken (if at all) does rest with the vicar, priest or reverend, and in the case of this wedding I was restricted to the back of the church. Not to worry, as I still managed to capture the moments throughout, thank the lord for zoom lenses!
Back at the Bobsleigh Hotel I was able to take a few romantic shots utilising the grounds. The Bobsleigh Hotel, although a small venue, did have some beautiful gardens and seemed very well looked after, ideal for wedding photographs.
There were around 50 guests on the day and the gardens made a great setting for the formal group photographs. Although the church was in a nice setting, the space would have been a little too tight for the formal group shots. Having already viewed the venue with the Bride and Groom as I try to do with all my weddings, it made sense to use the venue for these shots.
As with all my weddings, I try to capture the details and accessories throughout the wedding day which really do make lovely background fades in the wedding album, and here are a few examples.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day with Michelle and Glen, and photographed right through to the first dance.
If you would like me to photograph your wedding then please get in touch. Please note that I am getting booked up for next season so contact me to hold a date for you. I look forward to hearing from you.

A Wedding at Stoke Place
August 30, 2008 on 9:31 am | In Weddings Revealed | 1 CommentAs a wedding photographer in Hertfordshire I was really pleased to get the opportunity to photograph a wedding at Stoke Place in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire for Charlene and Marc. The couple originally found me in Your Herts and Beds Wedding Magazine and really like the natural and casual feel of my photographs.
He who dare’s, Rodney!
August 25, 2008 on 10:18 pm | In Weddings Revealed | 3 CommentsAs a wedding photographer in Essex I was lucky enough to photograph this wedding which took place at St. Edwards Church, Romford and Channel’s Golf Club, near Chelmsford for Natalie and Paul. The groom spared no expensive to arrive in style with this down market vehicle, which even broke down on the way to the church, I think Del Boy would have been proud! It was great!
Having Butterflies about your wedding day?
August 19, 2008 on 5:10 pm | In General Photography | No CommentsWhilst photographing a wedding on Sunday at Braxted Park it was quickly apparent that the Bride liked the idea of Butterflies as a theme on her wedding day and she had really gone to some effort with it.

A Wedding at Greenwoods
August 10, 2008 on 9:24 pm | In Weddings Revealed | No CommentsI photographed this wedding on Friday at Greenwoods in Stock, Essex. Greenwoods is a fabulous venue and both Kelly and David were a great couple to work with. The weather on the day was extremely overcast and heavy showers had been forecast. The one thing that can’t be guaranteed is the weather unfortunately…
